Niamh Seana Meehan

I don’t want to know what you know I want to know what you don’t know. I use my practice as a critical lens to examine contemporary storytelling, the work makes the verbal and vocal visual. The short fiction texts present a type of case study from my everyday encountering’s. The work is a composition of sound recordings, drawings, photographs and objects. The presentation of work is a series of images. The images are not performances or installations but attempts to visually articulate an archive of activities. Sometimes presented as art or at times serving as a function, the objects used provoke certain types of contemplation. Whilst the work embodies a variety of media, the central theme within my practice is liveness. The spectator is confronted by moments of exchange, unexpected dialogues and contingent choices. The spectator will experience themes of uncertainty, failure, non-meaning, ambiguity and the position of doubt.
